Custom crating is our primary specialty at Victor Wood Products. When standard boxes and pallets aren't enough — when you're moving machinery, industrial equipment, metals, or high-value components — we design and build a crate engineered for that specific load.
Every crate is built in-house at our Baltimore facility by our own team. We are not a franchise and we do not outsource fabrication. That means tighter quality control, faster turnaround, and a direct line of communication from your first call to delivery.
For international shipments, all of our crates can be built with ISPM-15 heat treated lumber and stamped with the IPPC mark — ensuring your cargo clears customs without delays in any of the 180+ countries that enforce international wood packaging regulations.

Design
We design a crate structure matched to your load — choosing the right lumber dimensions, bracing pattern, and closure method for the weight and handling it will face.
Build
Our team builds your crate at our Baltimore facility using new lumber — softwood or hardwood based on your requirements. ISPM-15 heat treated if you're shipping internationally.
Delivery
We deliver to your facility or freight terminal in Baltimore and surrounding areas. For export cargo, we can coordinate with your freight forwarder's timeline.

What makes your custom crates "industrial"?
We build crates for heavy industrial cargo — not retail gift boxes. Our custom industrial crates are engineered to support machinery, CNC equipment, metal fabrications, and other loads that require specific bracing, load-bearing floors, and secure closures. We calculate the lumber dimensions and fastener pattern based on actual weight and handling conditions.
Do you build custom crates for export through the Port of Baltimore?
Yes — this is one of our core services. We're located 3–5 miles from the Port of Baltimore and regularly build export crating for freight forwarders and manufacturers. All export crates can be built with ISPM-15 heat treated lumber and marked with the IPPC stamp for customs compliance.
What's the typical lead time for a custom wood crate?
Standard industrial crates are typically ready in 2–5 business days depending on complexity and current shop volume. Rush jobs can often be accommodated — call us and ask. We build in-house, so we control the schedule directly.

No minimum. We build single custom crates as well as large runs. Whether you need one crate for a one-time equipment move or ongoing crating for a regular production line, we can accommodate it.
